Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Increased Heart Rate When Having A History Of Hypothyroidism?
I ve no BP problem no sugar issue but once was a hyperthyroidism case that s been sited out now. A TMT test done 18 months ago revealed no abnormality. I am 65 and have been exercising regularly. Of late I ve noticed an increased pulse rate of about 94 beats per minute. What could be the issue?
As regular exercise can also be responsible for the heart rate of 94 beats per minute. However if you have symptoms of palpitation, sweating, weight loss despite of having a good appetite, heat intolerance the possibility of HYPERTHYROIDISM should be ruled out.
I advise you to consult a physician for proper workup like lab tests such as CBC, ESR and Thyroid function tests, etc.
Hope this answers your query.
