What Causes Increased Heart Rate?

My HR has been 120 bpm since 5:30pm ET. I was upset about something but have not given it a second thought since 7:00pm ET. Yet my HR has sustained 120 bpm. SPO2 is 98%. I ve been in a resting state. 37 yrs old/young. On average my resting HR is in the mid 90 s. Your thoughts?
