What Causes Increased Heartbeats?

Hi I am a 17 year old male I am 6 ft tall and 175 lbs recently I have been feeling dizzy and weak and my heart beats fast at times with sweaty palms. In the past I experience the same things and the Dre said it was my sugar dropping and panic attacks I'm afraid this could be serious. Help?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I recommend you to do an ECG, a cardiac sonography, and the thyroid gland hormones analysis in blood test ( TSH ,FT3, FT4) because; these symptoms may have to do something with the thyroid gland. After excluding all the possible causes like heart or thyroid gland problems and based on your type sensitivity, the doctor may say if these have to do with panic attacks and if you need to see a psychiatrist.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
