What Causes Intermittent Pain In Rectum?

I have an intermittent pain in my rectum every 20 seconds. This lasts less than a second and started yesterday around noon. I am not bleeding and have no had any hemroids before. can I take something over the counter for the pain and maybe get it to stop?

Noted the history of intermittent pain in rectum every 20 seconds and lasts less than a second and started yesterday around noon, no bleeding, no previous hemorrhoids, wants to know what can be taken OTC for pain.
First of all, it is necessary to know where is the exact pain coming from:
Per-rectal digital examination and colonoscopy to find the exact reason. If these are normal then the problem can be functional and control your stress and/or anxiety.
Take Ibuprofen to counter the pain and continue the medication as would be prescribed by your Doctor.
