Hi, I have a menstruation question. I have been a woman since I was 15 and 1/2 and ever since my cycles have been very irregular. Its only been recently that I have actually started marking the start and finish on my calender and it shows that it can be 7 to 14 days past the perceived due date . I take 2 5mg tablets of Dexamphetamines twice a day for my A.D.H.D and I have recently been prescribed one box (25 tablets) of Tamazepam. I take the Tamazepam about once a week, if that even. I had been unhealthy for a fair while but I have started eating a lot better. My weight is currently at 51kgs and I am 167cm tall. I know my life has been going through a lot of stressful stuff lately but I get the cramps and back pains like I normally would get right before I get my period but then it just doesn t happen. I have taken a pregnancy test and it came up as negative. I m not sure if I should go and talk to my doctor about my difficult and annoying issue... Thank you
Menstrual irregularities can be due to side effects of the medicine, temazepam. Rare side effect is anemia. Anemia often causes menstrual irregularities. You are suggested to take food rich in iron, calcium and protein. You can also take iron supplements. Stay well hydrated.
Stress and anxiety triggers menstrual irregularities. Avoid stressful life and addictions if any. Take quality sleep. Lack of sleep affects general health. Get clinically examined by a GP, get blood tests, investigations done to detect pathology like hormonal imbalance, thyroid issues, PCOS, etc. You will be treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
