What Causes Itchiness And Odorless Discharge From Urethra?
Hi,
Recently have had slight itching in my urethra and a small amount of clear odourless discharge. I have taken a 1g dose of azithomycin about a week ago and there is not really any difference in the symptoms. I had unprotected intecourse around a month ago and there was no symptoms at all so I'm unsure if they are linked. There is no pain upon urination just a slight itch that seems to be relieved after urinating. I am 31 y.o male in excellent overall health, non smoker, infrequent alcohol drinker, any ideas of a good course of action for me to take?

about your question i would like to tell you that these symptoms of odourless discharge with mild itching of urethra refer to having urinary tract infection
urinary tract infection may be due to viral or bacterial infection....so if you found small blisters around penis and itching it suggest viral infection of hsv2 that aquired by sexual contact
you need to do urine culture as primary investigative test of bacterial infection as in this case you should have antibiotics for treatment ...althaugh you took azithromycin but it may have no effect as there is bacteria may resist it and urine culture and antibiotic sensitivity test will detect simply the way of treatment and selection of the approbriate antibiotic that will give best results with bacteria detected........discuss with your doctor to do urine culture and antibiotic sensitivity test as it will help alot.......you should drink alot of fluids and limit your sexual activity untill treatment completed........wish you healthy life
