What Causes Itchiness In Clitoris And Flaky Skin Around It?

Hello,
over the last few days ive noticed my clitorous is a bit itchy and slightly uncomfortable, and noticed a bit of flakey skin. in the beginning i figured it would be from rubbing it too much, as me and my boyfriend are very sexuallt active. earlier i was in the shower and noticed skin flaking off, i dont think there was discharge, i assume it was just the skin that was flaking getting wet and coming in clumps. any ideas what it could be?
Thanks, Emma

Hi, Thanks for posting your concer at HCM

Seems to be due to candidal/yeast infection. Its common in sexually active females.

I usually ask my patients to use an antifungal cream twice daily for a week e.g Clotrimazole cream.

An oral antihistamine like cetrizine once daily would help you with the itching associated with it.

take care
regards
