What Causes Itchy Skin Rashes While On Furosemide, Simvastatin And Meloxicam?

My dad is 87 yrs old and on s varity of meds. Just to mention a few , furosemide , meloxican, simvastatin and others. He has had a skin rash that has been going on for months that itch and cause a lot of discomfort. He has been to several doctoes including a dermatologist and recently the hospital with rash , swelling of the face and hallucinations. No one seems to know what is going on. I looked at the three medications I mentioned and all three have hives/rashes as side effects. Is it possible that he has an allergic reaction or interaction with his meds ?

Hi

It seems to be hypersensitivity reaction and most probably it can be due to auto-immune disorders, ant-histamine of second generation in high dose can be tried like Levocetirizine along with Hydroxyzine.

It is the self limiting condition may takes long time for cure, but it is nothing to worry, drugs could be cause and for that trial has to be given to off the drug or try another drug one by one.
