What Causes Klebsiella Pneumonia Detected In Urine Culture?
Recurring UTI symptoms for @ least a year. Been treating with azo. 44 yr old female, 5'2", 129lbs. Other than these symptoms, healthy, on the go mom of four. Urine culture showed Klebsiella pneumonia. Everything I read says it's usually elderly or hospitalized people that get this. I don't understand and am BEYOND frustrated...Just started on nitrofurantoin, and cefuroxime axetil. I am always very careful about washing my hands etc.... I have no idea how i come in contact with this

In culture you have diagnosed klebsiella pneumonia ....
You are right with your knowledge that mostly it is hospital acquired nosocomial infection....
But it can be acquired from community also ....
So just now take antibiotic as that of culture and sensitivity report........
Drink more water ...
Fruit juice more ....
Excess spicy foods avoided...
Cranberry juice helpful in UTI ....
As you had repeated UTI diabetis ruled out ..
Hope your concern solved...
You can consult nephrologists for your case .
