I have a 3 almost 4 year old son who woke up yesterday morning crying and complaining of knee pain in his left lef. Since then he has been refusing to stand on it or walk. There us no obvisious swelling, deformity or brusing. He willmove around inand bed andor on thethe couch but.... besides that little bit of pressure will not do anythingu and keeps it bent up and wi unbend it with assistance and encouragement but then returns to hag itgain. He has an appointment today to have it looked at but was wondering about any other opinions . Thanks
Hi, This could probably be septic arthritis or muscular pain due to trauma. In my opinion, an ultrasound knee and aspiration of synovial fluid with x ray knee should be done to make a clear diagnosis. Treatment will depend on above reports, probably antibiotics, analgesic for 1 week. I hope this has helped you. Take care.
