What Causes Lack Of Gestational Sac On Pregnancy Scan?

I got my first ultrasound yesterday when I turned exactly 7 weeks. They did both the vaginal and abdomonel ultrasound but all they could see was the gestational sac, no heartbeat or anything. Is everything OK? Did they just tell me wrong about how far along I was? Is there still a chance I could have an ectopical pregnancy?

if u r having regular periods and your gestational age is 7 wks,there should be development of fetal pole and cardiac activity..but still there may be chance of delayed ovulation if your periods are prolonged ..so best advice is to repeat scan after 10 days and see if there is development of fetal pole and heart beat..
