What Causes Lack Of Urination In An Athlete?

A 19 y.o patient has provided a urine specimen for drug testing following a wrestling match. The drug test is negative. His chart shows that he has weighted as much as 190lbs, but currently weighs 178lbs. He states that he has a normal appetite and eats a normal diet. Further questioning reveals that he has not urinated in the last 16 hours

- inadequate liquid intake during the same time.
- adrenaline drive during the match causing hormonal effects.
- exposure to excess heat of atmosphere.
- stress of the event.
@give plenty of liquids - coconut water, lemon juice, green tea, coffee,
butter milk, rice water , juices.
@maintain his BP , Blood sugar , temperature levels.
@Cold sponging over head.
@Avoid exposure to heat.
@Consult family doctor if necessary after 2-3 hours .
