What Causes Large, Red Colored Welts To A 9 Month Baby?

We just noticed my 9 month old daughter has large, red welts when she was having a bath. They appeared over the course of about 30 minutes because I did not see them when she woke from her nap. There is one under her eye and several under her arms, but no fever. She just got PVC13 and flu vaccine yesterday morning. And she hasn t eaten anything new. Could it have been something from my clothing?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
It seems to be due to an allergic episode. The reason can be new soap, fabric, baby products, food item, insect bites or aeroallergen.

Give her antihistamine such as Chlorpheniramine or fexofenadine for relief along with lactocalamine application on the lesions. Try to find out allergens and avoid them in future.

If she doesn't respond or develops breathing difficulty, then visit ER for emergency services.
Take care
