What Causes Left Lung Pain While Taking Deep Birth?

Hello, A few days ago I reached for something that fell on the floor now I m having awful pain in my left lung, it hurts with every breath especially deep breaths. If I put pressure on it it s painful. I m 51 year old male I smoke cigarettes and have chronic pain In my neck and back. Two of my three older brothers suffered pulmonary embolisms. I m afraid that s what it is, I ve tried heat and ice but it continues to get worse even with the pain medication I take on a daily basis. Should I go to th ER or is it just a muscle pull or tear?

Hello,

The pain you got is a muscle spasm. This will come down with hot water fermentation and deep breathing exercises. While doing deep breathing exercises you can keep a pillow over the painful area with hands wrapped onto it. So the strengthening will come and pain won't be that sharp. It's not embolism so you can be relaxed.

As you are smoking for a long time, there will be a reduction in the blood supply of the capillaries due to calcification and the muscle loses its elasticity. Do regular breathing exercises which can help maintain the elasticity of the muscle.

For back and neck pain we need more details and then we can help you with the exercise prescription.
