What Causes Leg Cramps Upon Waking?

I have had morning leg muscle cramps/spasms which are relieved with movement and time (1/2 to 1 hour). I have a hard time even walking when getting up in the A.M. Later in the day these symptoms literally go away. For the past 2 years, i statted taking primidone for essential tremor....but i take onlu about 200+ mgs per week. What can i do about these morning leg.upper left side buttock cramps?? These cramps have occurred only in the past 3-5 days.

Hi there..You seem fine to me. Please get a complete blood profile, potassium, b6 and sodium levels and thyroid profile done. This will help you know if your deficient in any of these.
I would suggest you wear warm stockings at night and and do few bed exercises/ movements of limbs in bed before actually getting out of bed.
You can take weekly injections of neurobion forte ( multivitamin) which is known to give better relief.
I hope this answers your question.
Take care dear.
