Hello Doctor, My wife fell down from stair case and got injured beside to spinal. She went to MRI scan and the report says wedge compression fracture D12. Chief surgeon said to go for Vertebroplasty operation, however when we asked whether surgery required, he advised her to take complete rest for one month. Now she is on rest and she has leg pain sometimes. Please let me know what could be the cause for leg pain and is there a relief for the same. Your information is most helpful for us. Many Thanks, Karuna
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that your wife got compression fracture D12 Vertebra .Now she is having leg pain sometimes, it may be due to prolonged resting as it is occasional. No need to worry much. She can take analgesic whenever she has pain . Apart from analgesic, treatment of compression fracture is bed rest with two hourly turning in bed. Vitamin B complex and vitamin C are helpful in recovery. Calcium is helpful in healing. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
