What Causes Leg Spasms When Suffering From Paralysis?

I had a stroke 14 years ago. Paralysed on my right side. everything fine, except this week when I lay down to sleep, I get cramps or spasms in my legs and it really hurts. Do you know what is causing this and do you have a remedy for this. One Dr. put me on Dilaudid, but only helps for a short period. When I up in my wheelchair all day, it doesn t bother me.

I HAVE GONE THROUGH YOUR PROBLEM, leg spasms OR CRAMP OR PULLING LIKE SENSATION AFTER 14 YEARS OF PARALYSIS INDICATES SPINAL NERVE SPROUTING IMPULSES NOW AND THEN SPREADS IMPULSES TO PARTICULAR PART. BUT NO NEED TO WORRY, JUST WE HAVE DO PHYSIOTHERAPY TREATMENT IN THE FORM OF VIGOROUS STRETCHING OF ALL LOWER LIMB MUSCLE LIKE MUSCLES OF FRONT AND BACK SIDE OF LEG. ONCE YOU DO THAT GRADUALLY THIS PROBLEM DECREASES...
