What Causes Lesions On The Back Of The Throat?

I have had lesions on the back of my throat for at least a month now. My doc gave me antibiotics the first time i went and said it was a sinus infection and I got better. A week goes by and I catch the stomach bug and then the sore throat w/ lesions returns. I go back to the doctor and was told it was viral. Presently all of my other symptoms are gone accept for the throat lesions. However my throat is not sore. Can you tell me what s causing the throat lesions/ulcers. They are locate at the very back of the throat only (esophagus). thank you

Hi,

Your history is suggestive of the following:
Granular pharyngitis.
GERD causing pharyngeal symptoms.
Most of the problems like pharyngitis, gastroenteritis can be due to viral infection and can be recurrent as one mixes with people at work, shops and at home.
Hence to get a cure you have to follow:
No public contact for a few weeks if possible.
Take the foods, fruits and multivitamins to boost immunity.
Complete the courses of medicines as would be prescribed by your Doctor.
Povidone Iodine gargles.
Plenty of oral fluids.
Bed rest to get early recovery.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
