What Causes Lethargy Post Tobacco Withdrawal?

I used to be a heavy pot smoker for many, many years and recently quit cold turkey and stopped completely. Its been over 100 days (ive tested myself and have tested negative) and I was hoping to feel healthier. I thought I would have more energy and feel good, but I don't. I am not sure why. I started going to the gym regularly and I don't really drink alcohol that much. I do get plenty of sleep, almost too much, but I can't shake this lethargic feeling. What do you think is going on with me?

Hello thanks for asking from HEALTH CARE MAGIC

You have smoked pot (weed) for many years and then stopped using it. You have tested negative and since last 100 days you have lethargy and you are not feeling good. Pot or weed consists of marijuana or cannabis. Cannabis is known to cause amotivational syndrome after long term use. The symptoms of drowsiness, lack of motivation are seen. You have also mentioned about tobacco withdrawal. Long term withdrawal effects of tobacco may present with anxiety, drowsiness and craving. I would advise you to consult a psychiatrist for proper evaluation and treatment. Medicines like Modafinil, Armodafinil can be used in cases of day time drowsiness and lack of motivation due to cannabis intake. In more severe cases anti-depressants like SSRIs are needed. Consult a psychiatrist for prescription of the drugs.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
