I am 24 years old 5 6 and I am a healthy woman, but i do smoke cigarettes. Recently I have been getting very light headed. For example while driving the other day this feeling came over me. It started in my head I gasped for air and when my body gasped it felt like it brought me back to reality. I was about to pull over on the side of the road. I felt sick after that went home and layed down. A few days went by and it happened again yesterday while working at my computer the feeling came over me again it started in my head and i shoock it off and it went away.. I can feel it coming on and soon as i feel it I move and it goes away.. Please help!!!

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Please stop smoking, as there are several health hazards, which you know well. For your current symptoms, please get brain scan and carotid Doppler tests done, as there could be brain ischemia (lack of blood flow to brain).

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist
