Hello,

Dizziness and sounds in the ear called as tinnitus often is a symptom of middle ear disease and is very common in the elderly. It may not be related to his old stroke. Check his BP to rule out hypertension. ENT evaluation for hearing and the possibility of vertigo needs consideration. If you have any medications for vertigo with you can be used till u see a ENT or a Neurologist.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shiva Kumar R., Neurologist
