What Causes Loose Watery Stools?

I recently completed acourse of amoxycillin for a tooth abscess I have now had loose watery stools sweet smelling for 5 days, I am going appro 4 times a day can I take anything to help, I get stomach cramps, clammy, backache which all subside after I have opened my bowels. I have had a perforated bowel in the past which resulted in the formation of a stoma, this was reversed approx 5 years ago

Hi. Thanks for posting your question on HCM. Although any antibiotic can lead to antibiotic induced diarrhoea and Amoxycillin or amoxy-clavulanic acid are more likely to cause such symptoms. In your case, you can take a course of Tab. metronidazole 400mg(thrice daily) for five days along with some lactic acid bacilli capsules. Along with, you should also take plenty of fluids .
