Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my almost an year old boy(2 weeks to go), has a loss of appetite since past 2 days.yesterday he didnt pass stool..and seemed like flatulence..and didnt take any solids.. except for milk.today he passed stool which was slimy and smelly. Isnt interested in food at all. can see the weight loss and also a major decease in activity. Please advise.
Nothing to worry about it, just check for is he corresponding to the growth percentile. Children may pass stools once in three days to 3 to 4 times in a day. It is normal and appetite also little low, so feed him with much amount of smashed vegetables with fruits.
Zincovit drops can be useful. If he passing more gas, then you can use colic aid drops. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat him accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
