Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 51 and have not had a period since march but it was several months after the last one I am having pains in my chest but when I felt it is the edge my ribs over my sternum which feel"bruised" About 3 years ago I had a similar feeling and had an angigram which was ok the sensation went away after about 8 months with no treatment. I do not get breathless and regully run (4 to 7 miles twice a week quite slowly) but am always able to hold a conversation and my breathing/heart rate quickly returns to normal when I stop. Also over the last few weeks I have started aching after runs and other stenuous excercise when I have never ached before . Rather baizarly at the top of my legs/ bottom of my bottom. Can I put this down to " my age"
Hello, I would suggest that you look into the problem that you are having with a physician. You had chest pain 3 years ago, and did an angiogram, which was normal. However, you should not assume that the possibility of a heart problem can be ruled out because the angiogram was normal 3 years ago. Furthermore, the pain that you are having in your thighs and buttocks could be due to a vascular problem as well. I would suggest consulting with a general physician as soon as possible. He will examine you and conduct the required tests and subsequently refer specialists if need be. Thank you
