My father is in the hospital with no movement below the waist, Intermitten high blood pressure, he had a intermitted high temp which seems to have susided, and overall weakness. He was dry heaving but that has stopped now. He has not been diagnosed any thoughts on a diagnosis.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern for your father, looking to the history given here this could be "paraplegia" could be due to lower motor pathology to rule out this CT brain and spinal cord would be advisable, hope this information helps, take care.

Below waist paralysis can be due to fracture or injury at back and spinal cord level,
Or else it can be due to attack of stroke where the brain center of brain which takes care of lower limb functions will be affected. Now next you need to do mri of brain and take a neuro doctor suggestion. And do physio regularly to improve the functional ability. As well do check blood pressure regularly and if it stays high then again need to change the blood pressure controlling drugs.
Hope it was useful to you. Take care.
