What Causes Low Hb Level While Suffering From Ulcerative Colitis?

My mother is on mesacol (tds) for last 10 years since ulcerative collitis was diagnosed.It had been non bleeding type.For the last 7 days she is feeling low,Hb has gone down to 6.5 but no abnormal bowel issue.Any possibility of ulcerative colitis attack? Stool test is ok.
