What Causes Low Heart Rate Along With Dizziness And Nausea?

71 yr old female, treated for high blood pressure with beta blockers, water pill, .her heart rate is usually in the mid 40s . Migraine? For the last month. Ct scan of her head came back ok, ekg is ok ( except the low rate) . Seems more forgetful the last few weeks, and can t walk too far without stopping to rest briefly . Dizzy and nauseous the last few days. Dr recently upped her beta blockers as her pressure was a bit high. My concern is the low heart rate is causing problems. Was 41 this am.

Hi,

I understand your concern.

Beta blockers is causing her heart rate (hr) to be as low as 40s. I advise to discuss this with her doctor to reduce the dosage.

Dizziness and nauseous could be due to oscillations in blood pressure (bp). Keep monitoring her bp, record the results for future reference.

Neurologist to consult to evaluate her psychological and neurological status as you report she is feeling forgetful.

Hope this was of help.
