What Causes Low Hemoglobin In An Infant?

dear,
My Baby 10months, still breastfeeding has hemoglobin 78 (iron). Very low. Urin and blood test don t look god. all most everything is low, They say it can be an uroinfection, the bacteria level is high. Baby eats all vegetable and meet. Yesterday
they started an infusion, today 2.bottle and today they want to give antibiotics. The doctors don t know what it is.

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Iron deficiency anemia is common in exclusively breast fed infants as BM contains less amount of Iron.
Unless iron is supplimented anemia will not improve.
Ofcourse UTI will add to anemia and it should be duly treated.
Better consult pediatrician.
