What Causes Low Levels Of Hemoglobin And Hematocrit In A 19 Year Old?
Hi,
I am a 19 yr old female college student. This last year I was diagnoised with hypothyroidism. My symptoms are many, the worst are hair falling out, extreme fatigue, insomnia, always cold and major brain fog & memory issues. I have been on Levothyroxine(50) for 10 months and my Frees just do not come up. Right now they are:
FT4(0.69)
FT3 (285)
TSH (.76)
My Dr just added 10 daily T3 to my meds last week. Also my RBC, Hemoglobin & Hematocrit are low and my Mchc is high. What is the problem that I cannot get my levels up where my symptoms start going away? Help, thanks.
Hai, As your hypothyroidism is not under proper control that will lead to anemia.
your suffering from both hypothyroidism and anemia symptoms.both are interlinked.
because of thyroid dysfunction it lead poor absorption of iron in the body and other way during menstrual cycle bleeding will be excess and it may lead to anemia. even though you take iron supplement and medication it will not help. once your thyroid function is normal then automatically your anemia will get solved. iron level will come to normal.you will get rid of those above mentioned symptoms. kindly get proper advise from your doctor to treat your thyroid problem.
thank you hope i answered your query
