What Causes Low Libido After An Increased Dosage Of Bisoprolol/HCTZ?

I m a 61 year old male. for 30 years I took Benazepril 20 mg twice a day, started having problems coughing, which we related back to it. so the doctor changed me to Bisoprolol/hct 5-6.25 once a day, able to perform in sex went south. We now changed to 50/12.5 once a day, but sex drive is now non existence. Is there any hope for my sex drive return. I can t do Viagra or the other one, they burn my eyes unbearably. Thanks for any advice.

Both drugs (bisoprolol and HCT) are well known for causing sexual dysfunction. Both the sexual drive and the patient's ability for a strong erection are impaired. Unfortunately there is no solution besides changing the regimen. Be warned though that many antihypertensive drugs may impair sexual functionality and although we do know that some drugs may do so more frequently than others, the truth is that we can't predict the outcome on any particular individual. You can only find out by trying.

Remember to ask your doctor first! Do not try any changes without your doctor's consent.
