What Causes Low Platelet Count In Blood Test Report?

hi, i had a physical and some blood work done today, ive also had a fever around 103 for about 2 or 3 days now, which ive also mentioned to them...when they called me today they said i had a low blood platelet count, and to come back in two weeks to be tested for mono, im kind of scared, how serious is this?

Low platelets with fever is suggestive of Dengue. you should also be tested for Dengue Ig M ELISA, and NS1 antigen to check for confirmative diagnosis. if you find it Dengue you should also be admitted immediately.
