What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain And Abdominal Distension?

I have pain in my stomach that started in my lower left abdomen a day ago. It has now moved to all of my lower abdomen with distension. My abdomen is very tender. I took stool softeners and have had small bowel movements, but no appetite. More pain when urinating, more in the muscle, no burning or irritation as in a UTI. Please advise. Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

More or less the pain is due to dyspepsia. Secondly, it could be colic pain and it may be renal colic, intestinal colic, biliary colic and sometime it may be nonspecific type of pain, due to some functional disorders. Abdomen pain is pretty challenging and it demands several investigations, initially such condition can be treated with Tab. Omeprazole and Domperidone. Following that, you can at least go for ultrasonography.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
