What Causes Lower Esophageal Sphincter Pain With Fever, Body Aches And Headache?

For the past two days, I have been experiencing extreme pain in my lower esophageal sphincter when I eat, drink, burp, etc. It isn t heartburn but its a very sharp deep pain. I also happen to have a fever right now, body aches, and a headache (flu symptons). I am not sure if the problem I am having is somehow related to my flu or if it is something more serious. Any information would be appreciated.

Hi,

How do you know that pain arising from only from lower esophagus?

Possible with GERD or a hiatal hernia or cardiac pain or anemia or hepatitis or pancreatitis may cause this epigastric pain.

Use tablet Pantoprazole. Avoid spicy food, alcohol consumption, smoking and caffeine drinks.

If symptoms not improved please consult your gastroenterologist, he will examine and do upper GI scopy then treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
