What Causes Lower Left Side Discomfort?

I’ve been experiencing front left lower side discomfort best way to describe how it first started feeling felt like I pulled a muscle but I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary to pull a muscle. The discomfort will not go away & is beginning to become unbearable. Doesn’t matter what I do or how I lay it’s thr. Thrs been no changes to my daily activities. My eating habits have been the same I stay away frm fatty greasy unhealthy foods I do not smoke. I’m a 40 year old female NOT sexually active (haven’t been for ovr 2 years) I do have Essure coils for 4 years & I have had issues w those frm day 1 but this doesn’t feel like like an issue w them. I have had ovarian cysts. My bowel movements are same no changes don’t feel constipated don’t feel like it’s gas. This week I’ve been beginning to feel sharp unbearable pain starting on the left side radiating to the right side. It’s to the point I really don’t want to move much. There’s been no changes w my urine.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have gone through your question here.

* The intense lower abdomen pain may be from
- Ligament pull from ovarian cyst - hemorrhage in ovarian cyst
- Calculus in urinary system ( can be possible with normal urine )
- Intestine colic
-Others.

* I recommend to undertake an ultrasound of abdomen & pelvis as primary evaluation and manage in accordance to that only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
