What Causes Memory Loss With Minor Leg Pains?

My memory has become foggy and I can t remember if something happened earlier in the week or today. I perform tasks and don t remember that I did them. I have been really tired even though I am getting the amount of sleep I have always gotten (7-8 hours). I also have some minor pains in my legs that come and go. I am wondering if the medication Crestor (am currently on 40mg after being increased from 10 mg over 4 year period) is the problem or if it is something else.

Welcome on HCM!

I carefully read your question and understand your concern.

You should know that your troubles could be related to Crestor. Crestor is a hopolipemiant drug, which means that it acts by lowering your plasma cholesterol levels.

But cholesterol is necessary for a good brain function. Depression and memory troubles are a common adverse effect of Crestor (as other drugs of this class).

So, I would recommend consulting with your prescribing doctor on the above issues.

I would recommend reducing the dose of Crestor and then try to increase slowly if your cholesterol levels are not at the desired levels.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Best wishes, Dr. Aida
