I had a bad case of Bell s palsy when I was 19. Now I m 67 and I have shingles around my right eye. Since my left side never fully recovered, I m scared to have more trouble with facial nerves ( the first time I had extreme pain , metallic taste and took a lot of steroids (grew a mustache ) The left side has residual para, ysis(not TTt bad, but noticeable). I know herpes zoster is not Bell s palsy, but the pain is like it was before). The told me that bells is the motor, not the sensation nerve, but I still have hyparacuity and ,my left eye doesn t close. What should I do--I don t trust my facial nerves.
