What Causes Missed Period With Negative Pregnancy Test When Using Copper T?

Hi doctor.i am 33 yrs old and mother of a 6 yrs old child.I am using copperT since last 2 yrs and it will expire on April of this yr.My problem is that i am not getting my period this month.my preg test is negetive.So it s already 7 days delay in getting period .Is it is natural or i hv to test once more.

Hi. It is time for your Cu-T renewal.although you pregnancy test is negative and if periods have never delayed earlier then you should get a scan done to rule out pregnancy. Failure rate of CuT is between 0.1 to 2.2% after 1 year of use. Multiloads have lowest failure rate.Thanks.
