What Causes Moderate Pain Behind Left Knee?

I have been walking quite a bit (for fitness) lately. I have a fissure on my left, lateral knee cap but I have no pain at all. . Today I have moderate pain behind my left knee. What could this be? Should I stop walking? AND I am insulted that the Symptom checker states that this is most likely menstrual cramps!

This could be something simple like an inflamed tendon. Apply a little ice and take a simple over the counter medicine like ibuprofen.
I think it will settle down. Nothing to worry about.

best wishes
