What Causes Mucus Discharge And Bad Odor After Bowel Movement?


Just a quick question, recently, I get a bit of mucus after a bowel movement, it has a bit of a fishy-like smell...
Does that make any sense to anyone? This is new and I have had these symptoms for the past week.
No new meds, no new foods, I can not think of what the problem could be.
My apologies if this was too graphic or gross as a post.

As you mentioned you have problem of more mucus in stool that may be because of gastrointestinal infection or other reasons..

Irritable bowel syndrom may cause this type of symptoms..
Intestinal inflammation condition like ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease may lead to more mucus in stool..

Consult a gastroenterologist for further diagnosis.
Colonoscopy examination can done for further diagnosis.
Detail history and investigation give exact idea about problems..
Start a treatment as per reason behind it...
