what causes mucus in stool that has fishy odor? i woke up in the middle of the night last saturday with intestinal distress and havent felt right since. I do have IBS but this seemed different. Have not been having normal BM since then, twice with mucus but not much stool. Very tired all week, no energy

The given symptoms could be due to the protozoa infection and it can be managed with single dose therapy of tab Secnidazole, if this is the IBS condition also you have then it may interfere with infection so just try come out of the stress and no need to be overconscious whatever the symptoms you have all that going to be alright later or sooner.
