What Causes Mucus In Stools And Swallowing Difficulty?

I have been having a lot of mucus in my stools, gas, gas build up in my chest, trouble swallowing liquids and food which sometimes causes me to choke and not be able to breath, hiccups that are uncontrolable for days at a time and my stomach is always rumbling.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Mucus containing stool, a formation of flatulence (Gas) could be due to intestinal infection, and it could be Giardiasis.

Ideally, stool needs to be sent for testing because the condition of mucus stool may be due to diet, I would advise a single dose of tablet Secnidazole.

Other symptom stated here could be due to hyperacidity, and for that, I would suggest tablet Rabeprazole once in a day for three weeks.

Try to change the diet, avoid taking oily food, fat-containing food, and have more green leafy vegetables.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
