What Causes Muddy Color Stool?

Hi , I am 20 years old and am concerned about the colour of my stool. After a very harsh flue ( which did not in fact caused trouble to my stomach ) with high fever my stool became consistently with strange muddy color...it is not too dark but it also doesnt look very healthy. I have no other complaints , should I go to a doctor ?

Hi,

It is the color of the stool that is making you think that something is not right after an attack of flu that did not cause any intestinal problems.
Fever causes dehydration and there may be changes in the intestinal flora. If you have any doubts you should certainly consult a Doctor and also send the stool sample for lab test; if it shows any changes that needs treatment you Doctor will certainly treat you accordingly.

If the report is normal then there is nothing to worry about. May be the changes in diet and probiotics will give you normal stools soon. Take Bananas and curd or yogurt, it helps.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
