Welcome to HCM,
Hello,giddiness may be due to
1. Flucation in BP ,sugar
2.Ear problem
3.Cold
4.Sudden movement/spinning
5.Neurological problem
IN your fathers case it may be due to withdrawal of alcohol.Consult a physician who will do some blood test and suggest treatment along with some multivitamin and nerve strengthening medication
Thank you
