What Causes Nausea After Eating?

hi, i am a 17/18 year old female. Recently (past month) i have started to feel sick after eating. It is usually big meals and i usually just feel really ill but arent actually sick. However, yesterday i ate toast and had coffee and i was quite violently sick. It starts with my heart rate getting v.fast and then i start sweating, then i feel really sick. I dont think im pregnant as although im sexually active i am on the implant? also, i love food and wouldnt be avoiding it because of eating disorders. Its starting to effect my life as i get worried about eating because i dont want to feel sick! also, sometimes i get a burning/aching sensation in my mid stomach.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Various possible differential diagnosis can be there to cause nausea after eating as

- chronic gastritis or duodenits
- ulcer
- anxiety
- acid reflux from various types of GERD
- liver swelling
- others

In my clinic, after clinical examination, I recommend to undertake ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis with or without upper GI endoscopy for the further guideline.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
