What Causes Nausea Along With Diarrhea And Fever While On Pain Medication And Azilect?

I m having continuous nausea, watery stools, diarrhea after eating and persistent fever of 99-99.5. This has been for two weeks. I m also recovering from knee replacement done 4 weeks ago. I quit prescription pain meds a day before this all began. I spoke to surgeons nurse about symptoms and she said it doesn t sound as if wound is infected, my physical therapist says wound appears healthy. To confound just a bit more, approx 2 weeks ago I started taking a new version of existing med, Azilect. I was diagnosed with Parkinson s 5 years ago.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The most common culprit for diarrhea here is side effect of Azilect.

I recommend to consult with your treating neurophysician and get alternative for the same.

Till that time, plenty of liquids, probiotics intake will help a lot.

Thank you.
