What Causes Nausea And Throat Pain After Taking Lexapro?

I recently was given Lexapro for anxiety however I was my throat began to close up and the nausea features were not so good for my pervasive Gastritis. I also had major digistion issues related to the Lexapro. Is there an anxiety medicine that can also act as an appetite stimulant for those with eating/digestive issues as well. (I used to take Remeron for depression which helped my appetite greately now this switch is causing my body many problems). I will be following up with my Dr. next week. I would like to suggest some medications friendly to appetite/digestion. Thanks,

Lexapro (escitalopram) can cause several gastrointestinal side effects including worsening the gastritis(dyspepsia).
Would like to know why were you taken off Remeron (Mirtazipine). If you were doing good on Remeron, then I find no reason to start it again until and unless you were having any serious side effect to that drug. Remeron also increases appetite and might help you. So if Remeron was addressing your depression with no significant side effects, consider reintroducing it.
Other antidepressants like fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline can help in appetite issues but may not help with your gastritis.
You can discuss the above points with your caregiver. Thanks.
