What Causes Nausea, Fatigue And Lightheadedness?

Hello: my name is Jessi. I have this issue with my stomach I asume. Almost every month I get sick; I wake up extremely nauseated and nothing will help unless I sit up and hold my head between my legs until I throw up. I constantly have the feeling I need to throw up during this time unless Im in the sitting position mentioned above until I do throw up. I have sweating attacks, feel light headed and sometimes feel fatigue. During and after I get sick it feels my chest is tight as well as my stomach. And as I throw up; its very painful. This lasts for about a day or too; i lose my appetite as well for my fear of getting sick though I do drink water during this time. I don t know what is wrong with me and I am afraid. As I say this happens at least once a month; this month 3 times. I know im not pregnant because ive never had sex before. Mom thinks its my diet but I try my best to watch what I eat; and the last time I got sick was about three days ago; i barely ate really that day. I am 20; female. I haven t gone to a local doctor yet as my mom just thinks its my diet and wants to control it. What should I do? Could it be something serious? How can I tell my mom I should really get this checked out before coming up with quick conclusions. I really dread it , please help.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Pain in abdomen, tightening in chest and vomiting lasting for a day and repeated every month is a serious problem.
I would advise you the following in such a situation.
If you have not found any particular food or a beverage that instigate or enhance the pain and vomiting as your Mother has pointed, insist her to take you to the GP so that a clinical evaluation, examination and investigations can be done.
Get the stool tested for three consecutive days.
Blood tests including thyroid functions, sugar and kidney functions.
X-ray of the abdomen in standing position, CT scan with contrast.
All these will get a probable diagnosis so that a proper management can be done.
If there is an obstruction, you may need a corrective surgery.
If no obstruction, get a course of medicines against worms.
A course of an antibiotic if there is an intestinal infection.
