What Causes Nausea Followed By Fainting While Suffering From Cold?

Hello - a friend just text me - she hasn't been feeling well for approx 3 weeks. Came down with a head cold this past Thursday and today wasn't feeling well so decided to lay down. Started to feel sick to her stomach and felt that she needed to go to the washroom. Stood up and passed out for over 3 minutes (her common law hubby was with her). She came to, still felt the need to use washroom, so he helped her to washroom. When she stepped inside the room, she collapsed again so fast that he barely caught her. Problem is, she is in a relatively remote location in the midst of snow squalls. She's asked me to google symptoms. I think she should get into emergency and see a physician. Thoughts?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, she has to meet your physician or ER immediately.

It may be due to a seizure or stroke or myocardial infarction or postural hypotension or micturition syncope etc.

Get it done ECG, chest X-ray, CT scan brain and EEG.

Please consult your physician/neuro physician, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu,
