What Causes Nausea Post Head Injury?

My three year old fell off the bottom step earlier and hit the back of his head.An hour afafter, fell asleep, while continuously checking on him. Its been about seven hours since the incident,he woke up a little while ago, began to whine on and off for about twenty minutes then vomited. He's back asleep now though. Is this normal?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Nausea and vomiting after head injury is an ominous sign and needs to be dealt with caution. It is not normal. Internal injuries need to be ruled out. A CT scan of brain needs to be done.
