Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother is 82 years old. About 4 months ago she started getting nauseated everytime she tries to eat. She recently had an upper GI which came back normal. Her ultrasound also came back normal. All the Drs did was give her famotadine which is not helping. Any thoughts?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. What medication famotidine which your mother is taking would only help to regulate gastric pH and does not help much to overcome nausea. Instead, it would be advisable for her to take medication containing Pantoprazole with Domperidone on empty stomach to overcome the symptoms. Domperidone would certainly help her to overcome nausea symptom. Hope the information provided helps. All the best. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S.
